About Hannah
[CHICAGO, IL] As a young professional in the music business, I prefer to approach teaching through performance learning with applied lessons. I am 26 years old, and I have been singing for as long as I can remember. I studied as a double major in Commercial Music and Music Business at Millikin University (Class of 2017). I learned to master my talent in voice, and my studies also lead me into being a mobile DJ/Emcee for special events throughout Sweet Home, Chicago! Not only has my experience helped me gain insight on DO's and DONT's of the industry, but I have also developed my public speaking skills to a point where I no longer experience performance anxiety. I like to go the extra mile in trying to get performance opportunities for my students to shine like a star and beat stage fright! Music is my passion, and I enjoy being able to make a living by doing what I love.
I decided to start teaching private lessons with a goal to build my own studio and host regular master classes. This was something I enjoyed weekly during my college education. Also, as a young kid through today, my best friend since 2nd grade did not go to the same school as me. I feel passionate about engaging in the arts in diverse ways, especially with my local community!

I have a general syllabus for all of my students. I teach Voice, Piano, Sound Engineering, and I also teach DJ lessons. I have a minimum booking of 5 lessons if the student wishes to continue learning with me after the first lesson. I will approach teaching in a way that makes sense to my student. If they don't have experience reading music, then I will incorporate sheet music instead of using it as my primary basis of teaching material.
Until recently, I was teaching only youth (K-5), but since have opened my availability for all ages, including high school with an emphasis in college prep.
Do not hire a Voice teacher for online lessons. (Maybe it's just me, but...) I think singing online through a microphone completely takes away any opportunity to listen and play with natural sonics.
