About Corinne
I have been teaching private voice since 2006, and specialize in teaching healthy belting technique for Musical Theatre, Jazz, Pop, R&B and Country. My goal with students of any level is to inspire confidence in everything they do and foster a lifelong love of music. My students have performed with Performance Now, Equinox Theatre, Vintage Theatre, Magic Moments, Empire Lyric Players, Curtain Playhouse, Colorado All-State Choirs, school productions throughout the region, and are BroadwayWorld.com, Musical Theatre Competitions of America, Classical Singer Magazine, and National Youth Theatre Award regional finalists and winners. I have prepared students for all sorts of auditions, including successful auditions into Denver School of the Arts and prestigious summer programs and universities.
I perform frequently throughout the Denver area in both opera and cabaret, I'm the Cantor for Holy Rosary Church, and a highly sought-after sacred event vocalist. I hold a Performer's Certificate in Voice from the University of Denver, a dual Masters of Music in Musical Theatre and Opera Performance from Arizona State University, and a Bachelors of Music in Voice Performance from Middle Tennessee State University. Some of my favorite past Musical Theatre roles include: Cathy (The Last 5 Years), Ms. Darbus (High School Musical), Chiffon (Little Shop of Horrors), Erma (Anything Goes!), Sister Hubert (Nunsense!), and Fastrada (Pippin). My Opera credits include: Magda (The Consul), Rosalinda (Die Fledermaus), Micaëla (Carmen), The Witch (Hansel and Gretel), Erste Dame (Die Zauberflöte), La Zia Principessa (Suor Angelica), and Elmire (Tartuffe). I love seeing students grow as musicians and people! Singing can improve confidence in all parts of life, and I love watching that happen for my students.
I started teaching back in 2006 while I was still completing my undergrad. I always intended on teaching music in some capacity, and the community theatre I was performing with had an opening for a voice teacher. I've been teaching ever since.
I have a Performer's Certicate in Voice from the University of Denver, a dual Masters of Music in Opera and Musical Theatre Performance from Arizona State University, and a Bachelors of Music with a minor in Theatre from Middle Tennessee State University. I also spent a year in New York studying with esteemed Vocal Pedagogue David Jones, and a summer in Germany studying and singing at the Mittelsaechsisches Theatre. I continue to study with my teacher at the University of Denver, and am constantly seeking out new training opportunities.

When I start working with a new student, we first sit down and discuss their goals, experience, and music tastes. Then we do a "diagnostic" lesson, where we do some exercises and singing so I can determine where the the voice is now, and what we need to work on. At the end of the first lesson, we discuss the direction I want to do take with their instruction and how we can meet their goals.
I work with students of all ages and levels! I have young students just starting out, adults trying something they've always wanted to do, college track high school students, and working professionals in my studio. All styles are welcome in my studio as well, from classical to rock!
Make sure to study with a teacher with a degree in Performance and not just Education. Music Education degrees focus on teaching groups of students general music, not vocal technique. In most Performance programs you study technique twice as much or more than an Education program.
One of the studios I work for has an annual recital in the Spring. The one this year was the last for one of my students who has studied with me all through high school, which is always bittersweet. She has now gone on to study music at a prestigious university.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
The most important thing is to connect with the teacher! If you don't like the teacher, it will be hard to learn from them. Make sure the teacher teaches the style you want- a teacher who only teaches classical is probably not a good fit for someone wanting to study country music.

I teach at several different locations throughout the Denver Metro area, so pricing varies by location. However, my standard rates outside music studios are as follows:
Half Hour Lesson: $30
Hour Lesson: $50
