My daughter has been taking lessons with Marquita for a few months now. Marquita is incredibly knowledgable about all things vocal and offers so many resources that can be used outside of lessons as well. She's very kind and thoughtful. She has so many techniques that help with whatever issue you're having as a singer. My daughter uses her warm ups whenever she needs to sing for theatre auditions/performances. Her breathing techniques have been particularly helpful. Marquita has a great gift at bringing out the elements in your voice that make you sound unique and original. Marquita's home is lovely and inviting and there is plenty of street parking. She's also very accommodating with schedule changes made in advance. She's very communicative and always gets back to you very quickly. My daughter and I have noticed a lot of improvement in her vocal abilities thanks to Marquita!

I began vocal therapy with Marquita years ago after being diagnosed by a doctor with nodules on my vocal cords and he recommended surgery. My constant hoarseness and raspy voice affected my singing and inability to speak without pain in my job as a teacher and a drama director. Marquita, who is an expert on vocal therapy, gave me vocal exercises and taught me how to speak and breathe properly. With voice therapy, my vocal nodules healed without surgery! I was able to sing again and have been able to teach and work as a drama director with no pain or recurring problems with my voice. Thank you, Marquita! She is a great option to sharpen your skills or if you just started singing. She isn't strict at all, wants to improve on the skills that need perfecting. Honestly, she can help you with all of it, from expanding your vocal range, to helping you sing out and forward, she is there for you. Also, she has probably struggled with most of the things you struggle with, so just ask her. She'll help you enough so someday you might perform in front of a huge crowd!
