About Rebecca

Spanish teacher of 17 years in the New York City Department of Education. Work experience with ages 11-20 of all different backgrounds and abilities. High success in passing state exams. Thorough instruction focusing on the core facets of language.

I love seeing the ongoing progress of students and those "ah ha" moments when you can tell the student really grasped what was being taught.

About the lesson

I generally like to assess the student's current knowledge through discussion, readings, and basic questions. I also inquire on the student's goals for language acquisition to get an idea of what they would like to improve upon.

I am a very slow learner, but she was always very patient, encouraging and kind to me. She made Spanish word games for us to play together to which made learning easier and fun! Her help is invaluable and I wouldn’t be where I am in my practice without her.

i enjoy that she presents new ideas on different ways to help understand the work given. She helps me identify words with context clues, she not only helps me but ensures that I can do the work on my own as a way of understanding. She’s a great tutor

I am a native speaker, but this tutor really helped me refine my Spanish so that I can speak in both a casual and professional setting with ease.
