About Casey
As a non-native speaker, I studied Spanish from 7th-10th grade to meet my school's language requirement. I then stopped to pursue other interests, but once I got to college, I needed language credits to meet my degree requirements. I enrolled in Spanish classes with the intention of fufilling this requirement, and instead I ended up majoring in Spanish! I have since taken a variety of Spanish language and linguistics courses, and I tutored Spanish for 2.5 years for the university's Comprehensive Studies Program. I recently graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and a 4.0 Spanish GPA, and I hope to use my degree to continue helping non-native speakers at mastering a second language!
I feel that my experience as a second-language learner has helped me to bond with my tutees and offer them a student's perspective. I enjoy being able to help students learn a second language, and when a student succeeds, I am grateful that I was able to help them along the way!
