About Cheryl
I have been in the fitness industry for over 15 years and have been training in aerial since 2010 and teaching aerial since 2012. I teach at multiple aerial studios, perform aerial acts in various spaces - indoors and out and as high as 140 feet in the air, conduct aerial retreats in beautiful destinations and well as over water, aerial-mermaid photoshoots. I have won several awards as a personal trainer, have owned and operated televised fitness tv shows, fitness boot camps, fitness videos and childrens workout programs.
I was diganosed with advanced arthritis and was told that I needed both knees replaced. The doctor made me feel like my life was over and I had to stop all exercise/that I would not be able to do anything without the surgery. I went into a downward depression for about 3 months, then decided "Ok, if my fitness life is basically over, then I am going to make a list of all the fitness things/feats/challenges that I want to do that I should not be able to do!" And learning aerial was one of the things on that list. I found a school and it was very hard for me at first. But it was perfect for my knees, back, everything. My flexibilty improved off the charts, my knees stopped hurting and my strength went up tri-fold. I never had the knee surgery, started taking really good supplements for my arthritis... and I never go more than a few days without tranining in Aerial! I now teach and perform and do crazy feats like aerial performances 140 feet in the air over the water! I now actually thank that Doctor for giving me the spark I needed to give Aerial a try. ....It's completely changed my life!

I will start you off with very basic moves and gradually move you up to more challenging sequences and transitions over time. The great news is - Aerial has a quick learning curve. You'll get stronger and more flexible within just weeks. If you already have aerial experience, we will start you off with more advanced moves.
I have worked with every age from 5 years old to 65 years old. I have trained everyone from soccer moms, to triathletes and couch potatoes! Truthfully, there is something for everyone. It all starts with baby steps... You will get stronger each week - soon accomplishing moves that were once impossible for you.
Look for someone who cares about what your wants and needs are, not someone who's looking to show off how many big drops they can do. Make sure it is someone who communicates well and makes sure you understand the moves before you attempt them.
One of the scariest, but most thrilling Aerial events was when I climbed up 140 feet over this beautiful arch formation on a famous lake.. and then slowly decended down, over the edge, above the water and stepped on to an aerial silk tissu and started performing with my awesome aerial friend and dance partner. Special note: we used harnesses and climbing experts/ safety crews installed our equipment above and below. We also had rescue boats waiting on the sidelines for us. We could not have done this without our team. And we alway stress safety first. We made an incredible video. You can see it on Youtube - Vertical Art Dance.

I have been training with Cheryl for a little over 2 years however have been involved in aerial for 5 years. Cheryl’s knowledge and encouragement have helped me improve leaps and bounds! Moves I struggled with are now second nature. Cheryl also trains my son, who’s 9. The days we train with Cheryl are his favorite. My sons aerial training has helped him excel in his other sports (baseball and tennis). The strength and conditioning he receives in aerial gives him an edge above others. Highly recommend! I always leave feeling better then I did when I walked in!
