About Molly
I’m a friendly, energetic tutor who takes my students’ goals seriously. I care deeply about helping young people succeed and work hard to tailor each session to their individual needs and learning styles.
I graduated from Durham University in July 2023 with a degree in History and am now studying for a Master’s in Public Policy at King’s College London. With most of my coursework complete and currently working on my dissertation, I have a more flexible schedule and am keen to take on more tutoring. I’m especially interested in education policy and plan to work in the Department for Education, a public sector consultancy, or an education-focused NGO in the future.
Throughout 2023, I worked for nearly a year as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school, supporting students both in mainstream classes and one-to-one — particularly young people with ADHD and Autism. It was a hugely rewarding experience, and I’m keen to keep working with students alongside my postgraduate studies. I most enjoyed supporting pupils in Maths, English Literature, and History — the three subjects I achieved A*s in at A-level and still love to teach.
At Durham, I focused academically on topics such as modern British racial violence and the role of the press, but my degree spanned from medieval Sicily to the history of American policing and prisons. I’ve always been a passionate learner and enjoy passing on that enthusiasm to the students I work with.
Outside of academics, I’m a diploma-level violinist and have rowed competitively on the Thames since I was 12 — including for my college boat club at university. I believe creative outlets and sport are crucial in helping young people manage stress and maintain balance, especially during exam periods.
I’d love to support any student who feels I’d be the right fit for them and help them build confidence in their learning.

My main methodology as a tutor is to tailor lessons to each student’s unique learning style. Having worked as a TA, I’ve seen firsthand how different students learn best — whether visually, through memorisation, or other methods. In English Literature, this means adapting lessons to focus on literary analysis, thematic exploration, or essay writing, depending on the student’s strengths. My focus is to improve students’ experience in the classroom by helping them gain confidence in their understanding of texts, characters, and themes. I value thorough session planning, but I always remain flexible to meet each student’s evolving needs.
