About Abel

My name is Abel Holla, and I have a strong academic and professional background in Criminology, having earned my PhD from Kenyatta University. My academic training has equipped me with a solid foundation in Mathematics and English, including areas such as algebra, calculus, statistics, data analysis, and scientific reasoning. Through years of teaching and mentoring students, I have learned that learners perform best when concepts are explained clearly, patiently, and in a manner that aligns with their individual learning styles. This understanding has greatly influenced my tutoring philosophy, where I aim to make even complex subjects approachable, practical, and engaging.

I have extensive teaching experience at both college and university levels, working with students in classrooms, small-group discussions, and personalized one-on-one sessions. My goal has always been to help students strengthen their understanding, improve academic performance, and gain confidence in their abilities. In my lessons, I typically begin by introducing concepts in a simple and structured manner before guiding students through detailed, step-by-step explanations and practical examples. I then encourage independent practice while providing continuous support, clarification, and constructive feedback. I adapt my teaching methods to suit the needs, pace, and strengths of each learner to ensure meaningful progress and long-term understanding.

As an online tutor, I work with students from elementary school to college level in subjects including Mathematics, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, data analysis, biology, forensic science, and related sciences. I am committed to creating a supportive, professional, and interactive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing confidence in their skills. I also value collaboration with students and parents and remain open to useful resources, suggestions, and learning goals that can enhance the tutoring experience. I am highly responsive, approachable, and dedicated to helping students achieve academic success. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule a lesson.

I combine structured academic instruction with practical real-world application to help students not only pass examinations, but also develop confidence, analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and independent learning abilities. My teaching approach is student-centered, adaptive, and interactive, meaning I tailor lessons according to the learner’s level, goals, strengths, and pace of understanding.

For Mathematics and Science subjects, I simplify complex concepts into easy, step-by-step explanations using practical examples, illustrations, guided exercises, and continuous assessment. I emphasize conceptual understanding rather than memorization, helping students build a strong foundation that allows them to solve problems confidently and think critically.

For Forensic Science and Forensic Investigation, I integrate both theoretical knowledge and practical case-based learning. Lessons often include analysis of real-life investigative scenarios, crime scene concepts, evidence interpretation, forensic reasoning, and critical thinking exercises that connect classroom knowledge to actual professional practice.

A typical lesson usually begins with:

A quick review of previous concepts
Identification of the learner’s challenges or goals
Step-by-step teaching of the new topic
Guided examples and practical exercises
Interactive problem-solving sessions
Short assessments and feedback
Summary notes and strategies for independent practice
I also encourage students to ask questions freely and actively participate during lessons because I believe learning is most effective when students feel comfortable, engaged, and intellectually challenged.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my combination of:

University-level teaching experience
Professional background in criminology, security, forensic investigation, and research
Ability to teach both beginners and advanced learners
Strong mentoring and communication skills
Patience, adaptability, and commitment to student success
My lessons are suitable for:

Elementary and high school students
College and university students
Adult learners and professionals
Students preparing for examinations, assignments, projects, or research work
Learners seeking academic improvement, confidence-building, or deeper understanding of Mathematics, Science, Forensic Science, and Forensic Investigation
Whether a student is struggling with foundational concepts or aiming for academic excellence, my goal is to create a supportive and intellectually stimulating learning environment that produces measurable improvement and long-term understanding.
