About Jill
I have spent almost two decades teaching both General and Honors Biology & Anatomy students. I have firsthand experience with the areas that students struggle with the most and how to help them navigate through tough content. I understand that the majority of the Biology standards aren't super applicable for students and probably won't affect their survival and/or success as an adult. However, it's still important to perform well in the course, persevere and prove to yourself that you can do it, and to learn study skills that can also be used in other content areas.

I believe science lessons should be fun, engaging, and relevant to today's students. My teaching style incorporates lots of analogies and stories to relate information to what students already know, as well as study techniques and memory aids for arbitrary, hard to memorize information. My specialties are high school level Biology & Anatomy, but I would also be well qualified to tutor lower level sciences and environmental sciences.
