I have 30 years of being a system administrator and DBA with experience in support Finance, Human Resources, Payroll, and OneCard system. After some downsizing, I went into substituting and tutoring. I did look at teaching, but could not make the time commitment.

The importance of learning any subject is to understand the method to get the answer and not how to do the work. I prefer to teach principals and techniques than how to do the work for a test. A student who learns how to think about a task will go farther than someone who is taught howto do the task.
