About Austin
I am a fourth year Applied Statistics honors student with three years of mathematics and statistics tutoring. I have a passion for breaking down complex topics into manageable steps so students can visualize and understand the foundations of mathematics. I bring depth beyond what I am tutoring in, having taken calculus, probability, proof writing and working as an undergraduate researcher in mathematics. I want to help my students visualize and understand math so they can experience for themselves the beauty and satisfaction it brings.

A typical lesson plan would start with a check-in so I understand where the confusion is. Then I will give a review of the concept, helping the student visualize it so they understand why the answer is correct. Then it will be a guided practice where the student works through problems while I guide them along. I will also give the student real-world examples so they see why it is important. I will wrap up by summarizing what we learned and give them a copy of my notes in case they get stuck on their own!
