About Sofia
I am an undergrad student in graphic design. I am a native French-Canadian speaker although I grew up in western Canada. I am the 11th generation to reside in Canada after my ancestor emigrated from France. My dad is from Québec and I attended French immersion schooling. I am a new tutor, but I understand the language learning process as I have learned Spanish!
I love to use languages to connect with people in their native tongues. I love to travel and to use my language to immerse myself in other cultures. I hope to help you achieve the same!

I am against pure memorization and drill-like repetition!
I think the best way to learn a language for practical use is to listen and then speak. I also think it should be fun although it will inevitably be challenging at times.
If you choose me as your tutor, we will begin with learning the most crucial/used words. After, I think media consumption is important and to learn proper pronunciation through imitation. Once, enough vocabulary is learned, regular conversation is important to maintain and expand your abilities.
