# About me
Are you looking for a patient, experienced and practical CAT teacher who can help your child understand both the theory and practical side of Computer Applications Technology?
I'm an experienced high-school CAT teacher specialising in Grades 10–12. I work with learners on both the theoretical and practical aspects of CAT and have experience supporting **neurodiverse learners** through patient, structured and individualised teaching approaches.
I understand that learners process information differently. I therefore adapt my teaching style, pace, explanations and activities according to each learner's individual needs.
My lessons are supportive, practical and learner-focused. I don't simply give learners the answers — I help them understand concepts, develop practical skills and build confidence.
# Supporting neurodiverse learners
I understand that traditional teaching methods do not work equally well for every learner.
When working with neurodiverse learners, I can adapt lessons by:
• Breaking complex tasks into smaller, manageable steps
• Giving clear and structured instructions
• Using demonstrations and visual examples
• Repeating and reinforcing important concepts
• Allowing additional processing time where needed
• Using practical, hands-on activities

# My teaching approach
Every learner is different, so I adapt my lessons according to the learner's current level, strengths and areas requiring support.
A typical lesson may include:
1. Identifying what the learner is struggling with
2. Breaking the concept into smaller steps
3. Explaining it using simple language and examples
4. Demonstrating the practical skill
5. Allowing the learner to practise
6. Checking understanding
7. Revisiting areas that need reinforcement
8. Building towards independent work
My goal is to make CAT understandable, practical and less intimidating while helping learners develop confidence in their own abilities.

As a practising CAT teacher, I understand what learners are expected to know and where they commonly lose marks.
I also understand that **one teaching approach does not suit every learner**. My experience working with neurodiverse learners has strengthened my ability to be patient, flexible and responsive to individual learning needs.
My goal is not only to improve a learner's mark, but to help them become more confident and independent when working with technology.
