About David
Hi,
My name is David. I'm a 23-year-old UT Austin graduate with over 5 years of experience teaching SAT Math.
When I took the test myself in high school, I achieved a 2260, which was the top 1% of all scores. This was back when the test was divided into 3 sections: math, critical reading, and writing (with essay).
On the new SAT, I will consistently score a 800 on the SAT Math portion of the exam, which is essentially getting every question right. I also know every strategy for every question type on the exam.

One of the reasons I love teaching the SAT is that I truly believe anyone can improve their score as long as they work hard and are curious about learning. As someone who was a high school junior not so long ago, I know firsthand the pressures of achieving a high score on the SAT. For many people, the SAT might not be the most difficult test they ever take, but it will be the most significant one in determining their future. That's a lot of responsibility, and I'm here to help guide you through that process.
One of the things I have learned over years of teaching is that different people have different ways of learning. Some might really like flashcards, others visual representations of models, and still others might prefer a hands-on, practical approach. One of the first things I ask any student is what they believe their style of learning is, whether it be visual, logical, or otherwise. With that in mind, I will always adapt my teaching style to you.
Teaching has been a passion of mine for many years, starting in high school, where I would assist my peers in subjects such as Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and the SAT. I prefer a patient teaching approach, making sure students feel comfortable in a learning environment. Many of the students I assisted improved their grades in the classes and scores on tests after several tutoring sessions, and some of them even went on to teach others with their newfound knowledge. In my opinion, being able to see others grow not only academically, but personally, will always be the most rewarding aspect of teaching.
Both parents and students have an incredibly important role in the student's education, so I always welcome parents' input and feedback. My availability is most weekdays, so let me know if you have any other questions or would like to schedule a lesson. Looking forward to working with you!
