About Emma
I have been a tutor for over 7 years. I am a recent graduate of NYU with a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. I helped organize a tutoring network in my high school between middle schoolers and high schoolers. During my gap semester before college, I also tutored with Club Z! Tutoring in Dallas, TX. I had students ranging from 2nd grade all the way to a junior in college! I am currently tutoring two students in Trigonometry and Algebra 2
I am open to all ages and ability levels. I am committed to helping my students see the beauty in math which often translates to a deeper understanding. I am a student myself currently so I understand how stressful it can be and how much it helps to have someone to guide you!
I love helping students see that math is accessible and even dare I say it fun! For me, the difference between getting my degree in Mathematics and ignoring math as soon as I got out of high school was one of my teachers believing in me. I hope to be that person for someone else one day.

Firstly, I want to know what the student and/or parent want to get out of tutoring. I like to ask the student what they think they need to work on. Once I know what the student would like to focus on and what class they need help in, I devise a short lesson for each session. After the lesson, I will provide the student with problems or we will work on problems provided by their current teacher. We can work through them together or the student can try it alone. The most important thing is to work at the student's own pace.
