About Darion

I’m 26 years old with a degree in Arabic, Russian, and Linguistics from UCLA. As a Southern California native, I was surrounded by Spanish and have tested at an advanced level. I’ve also had the opportunity to travel in a lot of the Spanish speaking world where I’ve been able to learn just how diverse the Spanish language can be (look up how to say “straw” in various Latin countries). I think not being a native speaker of Spanish actually is an advantage here since I know the struggle of learning from scratch and can help you navigate this.

About the lesson

Do you find it impossible or just boring to learn Spanish in class, but you know how important it is? Do you want to know Spanish for better pay, or to impress your significant other’s Tía y Abuela?

While traditional methods for learning Spanish can be helpful, foreign language is a not a one size fits all kind of deal.

Let’s figure out what works the best with your learning style, and order some tacos together!

Darion has a grasp of languages that is truly uncanny. He is patient and encouraging to those trying to learn and can explain the why behind a word, conjugation, or phrase usage to help you understand instead of just rote memorization or parroting. He sounds native in every langue he speaks with a grasp of their cultures that is so helpful and interesting as well! He is just all around enjoyable to work with!
