About Sonia
After a lifetime of art, a 3-year course at Sheridan College for Graphic Design (graduated in 1995), and 22 years as a professional Graphic Designer, I am now passionate about supporting others in their journey into Adobe products and other computer software.
Photoshop is intimidating! I get that. I can guide you through the initial stages so you can feel at easy to start playing. And if you're a more advanced user, I can help guide you through some more advanced features of this complex software. I can also guide you in using Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign interchangeably. Let's have some fun!

Want to learn Photoshop, Illustrator or Indesign? Want to learn how to design a kick-butt logo or other graphic? Want to know what it's like to be a graphic designer? I can help!
I have used Photoshop and Illustrator for over 25 years, and Indesign for as long as it's been around. I was a professional graphic designer for 22 years after graduating from Sheridan College. Have a challenge? I can help.
I start out finding out more about you:
- What is your goal?
- What experience do you have so far?
- What's one thing you'd like to get from our lesson, today? What else?
From there you and I will go the speed you need to go at, and will accomplish whatever goals you want to achieve.
I am patient and am able to guide students through whatever challenge they're facing. I encourage students to try new things and offer advice based on my long experience as a designer, and can answer pretty much any questions you might have. And I offer humour throughout to ease the pain!
Remember, first hour is FREE! No risk required. ;)

Perfect! Sonia is wonderful. Not only does she have a ton of experience with the adobe cloud software, she is a practicing artist herself. I really feel she understands my positions and brings an empathetic real world view to teaching. I highly recommend her and look forward to continuing our work together.
- Darryl is a very talented, conscientious student, working hard for his future in a creative field. He shows up on time and is very pleasant to work with. I look forward to seeing where he goes with his career!!Sonia's response :
Perfect! She is very friendly and experienced! I took her coaching for 6 month for building my graphic design portfolio and she was excellent for it. Meanwhile she advised and shared working experience in Canada which was very helpful for me to get a sense of being a graphic designer in Canada. I highly recommend her!
- Kyulim has been a wonderful student! She is very talented and I see her going far with her graphic design career! I look forward to seeing her progress as she applies to jobs in Canada.Sonia's response :
Perfect! Sonia knew her stuff and was patient and clear with her teaching. She's a good listener, flexible and helped me just where and when I needed support. I appreciated her warmth and humour, too.
- Stephanie, you were an absolute pleasure to work with. You are obviously doing very well with Illustrator and I'm sure it won't take long for you to become comfortable with it. I'm so glad I was able to help with your quick question. If you need anything else, let me know. Cheers! SoniaSonia's response :
