About Derek
"Playing guitar for 13 years across stages and studios means I understand the craft deeply. My path started with formal training at Berklee College of Music where I earned my MMus in Guitar Performance. Since then I have taught music theory and chord transitions daily.
I help students master reading tabs and lead guitar phrasing. Understanding blues progressions feels great. Helping others grasp acoustic technique and complex barre chords is what I find truly enjoyable. Fingerpicking and songwriting are core parts of my instruction."

"Real musical progress becomes audible through structured practice. My methodology centers on practical application so you hear your growth immediately.
7 years of teaching refinement allows me to break down fingerpicking patterns and lead guitar solos into manageable steps. I provide free chord charts and tab sheets after every class to keep you organized.
You will maintain steady momentum. We keep things grounded. I avoid fluff and focus on clear technique."
