About Vanessa
As an international relations student, my university courses require me to delve into a variety of topics related to politics, history, economics, sociology, and law. I write lengthy papers about topics such as sovereign debt, political extremism, systemic inequality, US foreign affairs, and current events.
While I have always been a strong writer, I have also learned the skill of asking for help. I have received tutoring and guidance from a number of tutors and professors throughout my academic career, who have all taught me how to communicate clearly while embracing my personal voice and style. This has given me the confidence to teach others how to do the same.
Additionally, I have tutored for a number of subjects, including Algebra, Geometry, and Economics. While my degree centers around writing skills, I have learned how to work with peers and younger students to break down complex subjects.

I believe that one of the most difficult skills to master when it comes to writing is clear organization. Learning how to communicate complex ideas is a fundamental life skill--it not only makes you a better writer, but a better thinker.
As a tutor, my goal is not to give students ideas, but to help them learn how to give their ideas more depth, structure, and clarity. I believe this is the best way to improve writing skills and stimulate more thoughtful ideas.
My lessons are for any age of students who are looking for help on writing assignments, or any other projects for ELA, History, or Social Studies.
