About Caitlyn
Hi! I’m Caitlyn — a Mandarin teacher passionate about making language learning fun, real, and a little bit adventurous. Over the past 8 years, I’ve taught students of all ages and levels across the world. Along the way, I earned a Chinese Primary School Teaching Certificate and an International Chinese Language Teaching Certificate. In addition to teaching, I lived and worked in the UK for over three years, where I also earned my Master’s degree in Education. I spent five years training new Mandarin teachers — an experience that showed me how powerful great teaching can be. In my classes, you won’t just memorise words or drill grammar. We’ll chat, laugh, explore Chinese culture, and practise Mandarin in real-life situations that matter to you. I believe that when learning is personal, lively, and meaningful, real progress happens naturally. In terms of myself, I’m an explorer at heart — I’ve travelled to 52 countries and love discovering new passions like scuba diving and skiing. I’m always curious about new ideas and different perspectives, and I believe that positivity, openness, and connection make both learning and life so much richer. I believe learning Mandarin should be fun, engaging, and something you’ll actually look forward to! In my classes, we don’t just memorise words or drill grammar — that’s boring! Instead, we talk, laugh, and explore the language through real-life situations and meaningful conversations. My goal is to help you feel confident using Mandarin in the real world — not just on paper. Whether we’re diving into modern Chinese culture, watching trending videos, or role-playing real conversations, every lesson is designed to be interactive, personal, full of energy and ‘YOU'.
