About Trish

Hi, I'm Trish! I transitioned into early childhood tutoring because I believe that strong reading and spelling skills form the foundation for all future academic success. Holding a BA in Political Science (Magna Cum Laude) and a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, I spent years mastering advanced English literacy, text analysis, and precise writing. I bring that same standard of excellence, patience, and professional dedication to every young learner I teach.
With one year of experience specializing in kindergarten through third-grade (K-3) literacy, I know how to translate my high-level knowledge into supportive, child-friendly steps. Parents can trust that I maintain a highly reliable, structured, and organized learning environment while remaining warm and encouraging. I am deeply committed to helping your child build the confidence they need to thrive in school.

About the lesson

Hi, I'm Trish! As a Juris Doctor (JD) and Magna Cum Laude Political Science graduate, I bring elite language, writing, and analytical skills to early childhood education. With one year of dedicated tutoring experience, I know exactly how to break down complex language concepts into fun, foundational blocks for young learners.
My Teaching Approach & Methodology
I specialize in teaching kindergarten through third-grade (K-3) students. My method focuses on explicit phonics, interactive sight-word mastery, and confidence-building spelling games. Because reading should be an adventure, I adapt my pacing to each child's unique energy levels to keep them fully engaged online.
A Typical Lesson Plan
• The Warm-Up (5 Mins): A fun, fast-paced phonics or rhyming game to get your child excited.
• Core Instruction (20 Mins): Direct learning focused on a specific spelling rule, sound patterns, or vocabulary.
• Interactive Practice (20 Mins): Reading aloud, identifying words in context, and guided writing exercises.
• Wrap-Up (5 Mins): A positive progress check and celebratory wrap-up to leave them feeling proud.
What Sets Me Apart
While my advanced degrees prove my rigorous mastery of the English language, my true strength is patience. I combine the structural discipline of a legal background with the warmth and creativity needed to make reading less intimidating and deeply rewarding for struggling early learners.
