About Haisu
Hello! I am Haisu, a professional chemist, university educator, and dedicated mentor with a decade of experience breaking down the complexities of science into clear, intuitive steps. My career spans the highest levels of cutting-edge academic research and formal classroom instruction, giving me a unique perspective on what it takes for students to achieve true academic excellence.
Academic & Teaching Credentials
Ph.D. in Chemistry: Earned my doctorate from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY).
10 Years of University Instruction: Served for ten consecutive academic years as an Adjunct Lecturer at Hunter College (CUNY), where I delivered lectures and coached undergraduate students through rigorous laboratory and lecture curricula.
Highly Published Research Scientist: Authored 16 peer-reviewed scientific publications in world-renowned chemistry journals, including Angewandte Chemie and ACS Catalysis. I bring this active, real-world STEM background directly into our tutoring sessions.
Establishing Your Success
Whether you are a pre-med student working to master the physical sciences section of the MCAT, a college undergraduate navigating the fast-paced demands of Organic Chemistry and General Chemistry, or a high schooler striving for a top score on the AP Chemistry exam, my extensive background ensures you are learning from a true subject-matter expert.
I am deeply passionate about student-centered mentorship. My professionalism, proven track record within the university system, and structured teaching methods will provide the ultimate competitive edge you need to turn chemistry into your greatest academic strength.

Hi, I'm Haisu! Whether you are a pre-med student tackling the high-stakes demands of the MCAT Chemistry section, a college undergrad navigating Organic Chemistry (lecture and lab) or General Chemistry, or a high school student preparing for AP or Regents Chemistry, my lessons are custom-tailored for your specific academic goals.
What sets me apart from traditional tutors is the unique intersection of my background: I am a highly published research scientist with a Ph.D. in Chemistry and ten consecutive years of experience teaching on the ground as a university instructor within the CUNY system. I know exactly where students stumble, how professors write exam questions, and how to translate advanced, intimidating textbook jargon into clear, everyday language.
My Teaching Approach & Method
My methodology completely rejects blind memorization. Chemistry is a conceptual puzzle, not a subject you memorize. I use a student-centered, step-by-step approach that teaches you how to think like a scientist. Instead of memorizing endless organic reactions, we master the core rules of electron-pushing logic so you can confidently predict mechanisms on any exam. Instead of panicking over advanced math, we break down the foundational logic behind the equations so it clicks conceptually.
