About Sophie
I am a history student, and writing essays is a huge part of my course. My first year as an undergraduate has been very successful, most of which I can attribute to my essay writing skills; gained throughout my academic life. I excelled academically in writing based subjects, such as English Literature in both GCSE; achieving a 9 grade and A-level; an A grade. I have applied these strengths previously, helping year seven students to transition from KS2 to KS3 literacy. I also have experience tutoring KS2 students, in preparation for their SATS and 11+ exams.

I believe that the teaching of students vary, depending on the student being taught, and their specific needs. While some learn by simply note taking, other's need a more engaging and physical approach. I also uphold the idea of growth mindset. This is the idea that failure does not mean end of learning and that a student should give up. Instead that they should perceive this as a First Attempt In Learning: FAIL. There is always a new approach to understanding a specific subject, and they should be executed fully, until the student achieves success.
