About Safina
I’m a recent Graphic Design graduate from Sunway University with three years of teaching experience. About a year ago, I began tutoring two students aged 12 and 14 in English following the IGCSE syllabus, both online and in person.
I’m a Cambridge IGCSE 2020 graduate myself and achieved an A in English. Through tutoring, I’ve helped my students improve their speaking confidence, vocabulary, pronunciation, and writing, particularly their grammar.
I also worked as a copywriter for a digital marketing company from 2021 to 2023, which strengthened my English writing and communication skills. From 2024 to 2025, I taught art to children aged 3 to 14, giving me experience adapting to different ages and learning styles.
I enjoy teaching in a patient and supportive way, tailoring my approach to each student and helping them build a strong foundation while becoming more confident in using English.

When I begin teaching a new student, I first assess their current level and identify the areas they need to improve. I start with a conversation to get a sense of their speaking skills, including their confidence, pronunciation, vocabulary, and fluency. I then assess their writing through a set of practice questions, looking at areas such as grammar, spelling, vocabulary, and sentence structure.
Based on the assessment, I create a personalised learning plan that prioritises the areas requiring the most attention. We focus on strengthening each area before gradually moving on to the next.
For example, if a student struggles with spelling, grammar, and vocabulary, I may begin with spelling before moving on to grammar and then vocabulary. This allows us to build a stronger foundation rather than trying to improve everything at once.
My aim is to make each lesson specific to the student, focusing on what they actually need rather than following the exact same approach for everyone.

Safina is very compassionate yet intentional in her approach to teaching students. She is patient and kind, while also bringing creativity into her lessons, making it easy for my daughter to follow along and stay engaged.
