About Shawna

I’m a first-year Chemical Engineering student at Imperial College London with an A* in A-level Maths.

Maths wasn’t always my strongest subject. However, through dedication, consistent practice and perseverance, I developed my abilities and discovered a genuine passion for it. Having experienced that journey myself, I understand how challenging Maths can sometimes feel, and I believe that every student has the potential to succeed with the right guidance and encouragement.

My aim is to make Maths approachable, engaging and enjoyable, creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing their problem-solving skills.

I offer personalised tutoring in Primary Maths, SATs preparation, KS3 Maths and GCSE Maths, tailoring my approach to each student’s individual needs, abilities and goals.

About the lesson

I use past papers and an online interactive whiteboard to go through questions with students.
The lesson length would typically either be 30 minutes or 1 hour, but I am open to arranging longer lesson times if needed.
I assess the student's strengths and weaknesses to create personalised and engaging lessons.
My methods include interactive discussions, visual aids, practice problems, and constructive feedback. I adapt to their learning styles to help them succeed.
I will be tutoring both secondary school and primary school students in preparation for their GCSE and SATs exams.
Having achieved a grade 9 in maths during my GCSEs and an A* in my maths A Level, I feel I am very capable in helping you reach your full potential in mathematics.
