About Lucy
I have a master's degree in Biological Sciences and have worked in numerous fields within biological and chemical industries. I currently work as a chemist but have also worked in genetics and as a microbiologist.
This has allowed me to develop broad, in-depth knowledge about a lot of the subjects within A Level and GCSE specifications.
Though I have a full-time job as a scientist, I am passionate about teaching and have always loved it. Having tutored dozens of students over the span of 10 years, I've learnt how to ensure students really take information on board. All of my students have seen an improvement of at least 2 grades and been accepted into their choice of university.

I have 10 years' experience helping students develop a thorough understanding of fundamental principles that reoccur throughout the subject.
A lot of students think they just "don't understand science". What I've found is they are often not taught in a way that helps them learn. My approach is to engage the student through interactive and visual learning tailored to their individual needs. I check throughout the lesson that the student is following, understanding and able to apply the information they are learning.
