About Shane
I am Shane. I was born in County Louth, but I am now residing in County Meath, and I always have had a major passion for teaching. I love teaching other people concepts, from the novel to the unintuitive. I have devised many ways to tackle problems, and I will go to a lot of lengths to make sure you fully understand the problem and be able to have that "aha" moment when it comes to solving a question!
I have been known to "speedrun" maths papers in less than an hour and achieve a H1, proving my confidence in the subject.
I participated in many talented youth programs at DCU since 2012, including subjects such as physics, statistics, engineering, chemistry, and software development, which displays a continued and consistent drive for knowledge.
I am currently in the midst of authoring multiple textbooks for Maths, Applied Maths, and Physics (all of which I achieved a H1 in). They will go in conjunction with the lessons I teach. You can purchase these e-books through me for a discounted rate if you are a paying student once they release c. November 2026.
I have taught all ends of the spectrum. Whether you are brand new to algebra, experimenting with compound angles, or want an inkling to what the Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer conjecture is, I will be sure to have you covered and leave you intrigued for more. All of these have come up in my lessons before.

I tutor about Leaving Cert Mathematics, Physics and Applied Maths, as well as Junior Cert Mathematics. My lessons should last 60 minutes normally, and should cover the main ideas of a particular concept to you.
The following are included in paid lessons:
For solo students:
- 1-on-1 exam focused teaching and learning tailored to your needs.
- Exam-style questions and solutions.
- Customised exam papers and subject tests, spanning ~ 50 different disciplines.
- Access to a complete set of notes for the entire subject of your choice.
- Open communication via email from 8am-9pm for any other queries you may have.
For groups:
- Same as above, also including grouped activities and a grouped discount (up to 6 patrons).
I operate lessons online and in-person within a 15km radius of Bettystown Square, Co. Meath. Prices start at €40 per hour, but can be higher depending on distance.
If you accept a lesson proposition, and do not show up within the first half hour of the agreed upon time, the lesson will not go ahead.

Details
Online lessons are set at €30 per hour, unless you contacted me before the 29th of August 2026 @ 9pm. Those who contacted me before then are charged at the old rate of €25 an hour.
Travel costs start at €40 per hour (I am not sure how I can change it on the website. Therefore, this pricing must be done on-site). However, prices may increase depending on travel time and distance. Distance is set from Bettystown Square, Co. Meath (near bus stop no. 108701). The maximum distance is 15 kilometres as the crow flies.
