About Maite

Years of experience teaching Spanish to adults and preparing students for GCSE and A-levels.
International certification of Spanish teacher as a second language.

I have a dynamic and fun personality and I am good working with children of all different ages. I tailor lessons and resources to meet the individual needs of the students, creating an environment that engages and encourages them to actively participate in the learning process.
I am reliable, flexible, and open to change, with strong organisational/planning skills, a positive attitude, and a objectives-oriented approach.

I love to teach Spanish as I love my language, country and culture.
Hope I can share it with you!

About the lesson

I started my career as a telecommunication engineer and worked for several years for international companies in that sector. With children, the passage of time and the need to move to different countries, I made a career change towards education.
A Spanish native from Barcelona.

"International certification as a teacher of Spanish as a foreign language" by ELE (colaborating with Cervantes Institute)

Nowadays doing private tutoring for GCSE and A-Level and also ALCE (Agrupación de Lengua y Cultura Españolas en el Reino Unido) exams.

I have experience teaching Spanish as a second language in schools and as private classes, with adults and children.

I can tailor lessons and resources to meet the individual needs of the students, creating an environment that engages and encourages them to actively participate it the learning process.

I feel it is essential to create a friendly and interesting environment, so the students feel comfortable and want to participate and learn. Participation and interaction from the students are crucial, so I actively engage all the students in the activities I am teaching.

I use activity books, flash cards, songs, and games, particularly when teaching younger students. When working with older children I try to give the lesson context to make it more relevant to them.

During my lessons or support tasks I give clear instructions and repeat them in Spanish and English (if required), making sure all the students understand what we are learning at that time.

Classes availables online and onsite

Maite has been teaching Spanish to my 6 year old daughter for the past 3 months. Her lessons are very dynamic and cover all aspects from the language learning. She adapts them to the children's interests and manages to keep them focused and eager to keep learning. As a result my daughter has significantly improved her knowledge and confidence to keep practicing her Spanish outside teaching hours. I am very impressed with the impact Maite has had on her and I strongly recommend her classes.
