About the lesson

Hello! I’m Chen, a passionate and experienced Mandarin tutor dedicated to helping students of all levels achieve their language goals. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to refine your fluency, my personalized teaching approach ensures that each lesson is engaging, effective, and tailored to your needs.

My Teaching Methodology
I believe that language learning should be both practical and enjoyable. My teaching methodology combines structured lessons with real-life applications, focusing on the four key skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. I use a variety of techniques, including:

Interactive Conversations: To build confidence and fluency, I emphasize conversational practice from the very beginning.

Customized Materials: I create lessons based on your interests, goals, and proficiency level, ensuring relevance and engagement.

Cultural Immersion: Language and culture go hand in hand. I incorporate Chinese culture, traditions, and current events into my lessons to provide a deeper understanding of the language.

Progressive Learning: Each lesson builds on the previous one, with regular reviews and assessments to track your progress.

Typical Length of a Lesson
My lessons typically run for 60 minutes, which I’ve found to be the ideal length for maintaining focus while covering a variety of topics. However, I can adjust the duration to suit your schedule and learning preferences.

My Qualifications and Experience
I hold a Level 2A Certificate in Mandarin Proficiency (普通话二甲), which demonstrates my mastery of the language and pronunciation. With over 3.5 years of teaching experience, I’ve worked with students from diverse backgrounds, helping them achieve their goals, whether for travel, business, or personal enrichment.
