About Zarif
I'm a journalist with bylines in The Globe and Mail, currently finishing my master's degree in journalism. I write for a living, so I have a sense for what makes writing work.
My undergrad was in economics at McGill, so I'm comfortable with dense writing across business, social science, and humanities.
Before journalism school, I worked at the Canadian Olympic Committee during Paris 2024, helping Canadian reporters file on deadline and telling the story of Team Canada.

In terms of lessons, I tend to be highly conversational and collaborative. First, I'll want to get a good idea of what your goals are and make a plan together on how we can get there.
We'll also work on whatever's on your plate in a given week and review work you've done in the past. No exercises from a textbook.
I'll mostly be helping with writing essays, research papers, and theses for university, college, and high school students in the social sciences and humanities.
