My lessons follow the acronym KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid). No, you're not stupid or dumb, just math is easier when you simplify it. If you overcomplicate it, you will never understand it. I try and help simplify so it’s easy to understand, plus I have some tricks I can teach to make it easier as well.
