About Hannah
About Me
Hello, I’m Hannah, founder and owner of Nythen Twf, an experienced secondary English teacher and learning coach based in South Wales.
I established Nythen Twf because I wanted to create a different kind of learning experience for children and young people — one that recognises that not every learner thrives in a traditional classroom or through a one-size-fits-all approach.
I have worked in education for many years and have a particular passion for supporting children and young people who may have lost confidence in their abilities, struggle with motivation, or need a different approach to learning.
I hold a degree in English and Communication, a PGCE in Secondary English and a Master’s degree in Special Education. I have also worked extensively in alternative provision and have experience supporting learners with additional learning needs, anxiety around education and barriers to engagement.
I believe that every learner can make progress when we find the right way for them to learn.
My approach is friendly, patient and encouraging. I take time to get to know each learner, understand their strengths and identify what is making learning difficult. From there, I create sessions that are genuinely bespoke rather than simply following the same programme with every learner.
I particularly enjoy helping learners who have started to believe that they are “not good at school” discover that they are capable of far more than they thought.
Alongside academic learning, my coaching approach focuses on confidence, resilience, organisation, motivation and helping learners develop strategies that they can use independently.
For me, tutoring isn’t just about getting better grades. It’s about helping a young person feel more confident, more capable and more positive about learning.
As the founder of Nythen Twf, I am passionate about creating a service where learners feel heard, valued and understood, while giving families practical support they can use beyond the tutoring session.
I look forward to getting to know you and finding out how Nythen Twf can help.

Helping Learners Learn, Belong & Grow
Experienced English Teacher & Learning Coach | Bespoke Online Support
Does your child struggle with confidence, motivation or traditional approaches to learning?
Perhaps they understand more than they are able to show in school, find English difficult, have lost confidence in their abilities, or simply need someone to explain things in a different way.
That’s where I can help.
I am an experienced secondary English teacher and learning coach with extensive experience supporting children and young people who need a more personalised approach to education.
Through Nythen Twf, I provide friendly, supportive online tutoring and coaching designed around the individual learner — not a one-size-fits-all programme.

More than just tutoring
I believe that confidence comes before progress.
If a learner believes they are “bad at English” or “can’t do school”, simply giving them more worksheets isn’t always the answer.
We take time to understand how they learn best, identify what is getting in the way and build from their strengths.
Sessions are relaxed, encouraging and purposeful. We celebrate progress, however small, and gradually help learners become more independent and confident.
Bespoke support
No two learners are the same, so sessions are adapted to suit the individual.
This might mean working towards a GCSE, improving a particular skill, rebuilding confidence after a difficult experience at school, or simply helping a learner discover that learning doesn’t have to feel overwhelming.
I can also provide resources and activities for parents/carers to use between sessions, helping support continued progress at home.
Why choose me?
I have many years of experience working in education, including supporting learners in alternative provision and those who have struggled to engage with mainstream education.
I hold a degree in English and Communication, a PGCE in Secondary English and a Master’s degree in Special Education.
Most importantly, I understand that the relationship between learner and tutor matters.
My aim is to create a space where learners feel listened to, respected and capable.
Online sessions
Sessions take place online, making support accessible from the comfort of home.
I offer 1:1 sessions, with small-group sessions available where appropriate.
If you’re not sure whether tutoring or coaching is right for your child, please get in touch. We can have a conversation about what they need and see whether I can help.
Learn. Belong. Grow.
Supporting learners to feel more confident, capable and ready to learn.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
From the moment Hannah first stepped into our home, I knew she was perfect for my daughter. Hannah is such a happy, friendly person and puts my shy daughter at ease. Hannah plans my daughter's lessons to suit her needs. I would highly recommend Hannah.
Hannah is an amazing English teacher. She supported my newly diagnosed ADHD sister in managing school-related anxiety throughout her A-level English studies.
