About Avy

Fluent in both Simplified and Traditional Chinese. I hold a Master’s degree and have 1 year of private tutoring experience.

I don’t teach Mandarin as a language alone.
My lessons also integrate traditional Chinese culture, Chinese history, and ancient wisdom, helping students understand not just how to speak Chinese, but why the language thinks the way it does.

This cultural depth makes learning more meaningful, memorable, and naturally improves comprehension and expression. Chinese becomes not just a tool for conversation, but a way to understand ideas that have shaped civilization for thousands of years.

I make learning Chinese engaging and practical, so you can speak with confidence and ease from day one.

About the lesson

My teaching approach emphasizes:

Real-life communication as the core, avoiding rote memorization
Scenario-based learning, guided conversations, and real-time correction
Transforming abstract grammar into clear, practical, and usable expressions
Focusing on understanding + application, rather than exam-oriented learning

Also, My teaching goes beyond just Mandarin. Through learning Chinese, students also gain insights into Chinese culture, history, and ancient wisdom, exploring traditional values, historical stories, and philosophical concepts—so they not only speak the language, but truly understand its roots and meaning.

Learning Chinese used to feel intimidating, but her teaching style made it much easier and more enjoyable. Her lessons are well-structured but never boring, and she always adapts to the student’s pace. She also explains vocabulary and grammar clearly and provides useful examples for daily conversation. I’ve seen real improvement after learning with her and would highly recommend her services.
