Welcome! I'm excited to be your part-time computer science teacher! My name is Sarim, and I'm an experienced programmer and system administrator. My job is to get you excited about technology and computers, while also teaching you foundational concepts of computer science. Lesson Overview:
Topic: Introduction to Computer Science
Objectives:
1. Introduce students to the basics of computer science
2. Explain different computer operating systems
3. Introduce the core concepts of algorithms and programming
4. Program simple applications using a development language
Materials Needed:
- Computers with internet access
- Copy of lesson slides
- Development language text editor
Lesson Outline:
1. Introduction (2 minutes): Explain why this course is important
2. Basics of Computer Science (20 minutes): Explain what computer science is, discuss the different components of a computer system and operating systems, explain algorithms and data structures
3. Programming Basics (35 minutes): Introduce the syntax of a development language, program a simple application, discuss debugging techniques
4. Closing (3 minutes): Summary of the course and answer any questions that students may have.
