Learning Albanian in a breeze through the lens of a passionate and certified tutor who is fluent in both: Northern and Southern accents.

Disappointing! Unfortunately, Joni was not the right tutor for me, and my experience was extremely disappointing.
From the beginning, there were several red flags. He canceled lessons repeatedly, and during our first meeting, he never turned on his camera. Many of his text responses also appeared to be generated by ChatGPT, which made me question whether he was genuinely engaged in teaching.
I also found it very unusual that he asked me to leave him a positive review before we had even completed a single lesson. I felt pressured to do so.
Another concern was that he asked me to pay him outside of the Superprof platform. Looking back, I believe this was intentional because Superprof cannot protect or reimburse students for payments made off-platform.
I paid in advance for five lessons that never took place. Every week there was another cancellation or excuse, and after waiting patiently, I finally asked him to refund the money for the lessons he never taught. He refused.
I also noticed that his advertised hourly rate increased dramatically over a very short period of time—from around $10 per hour to $45 per hour within just a few weeks—which only added to my concerns.
Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend Joni. I paid for lessons that were never delivered, was denied a refund, and ultimately felt scammed. I would strongly encourage anyone considering lessons with him to keep all payments within the Superprof platform and proceed with caution.
I trusted this tutor. I ignored red flags. The communication sounded professional. The follow-through wasn’t. He’s much better at sending messages than showing up for lessons. Apparently collecting positive reviews was a higher priority than actually providing the lessons. Don’t let his polished messages fool you. My experience was very different.
The lessons never materialized, but the excuses always did.
