About Oscar

Hi! I’m Oscar — a 3rd-year MSci Chemistry student at the University of Bristol, a world class Russel group university. I am an IB graduate who achieved 7 in Chemistry HL, 7 in Physics HL, and 6 in AA Maths HL (A*A*A equivalent). DBS checked and verified on my profile.

I’ve tutored younger students in all three subjects, helping them improve problem-solving, and exam technique as well as produce great course work.

I was in your position recently so I understand exactly what students struggle with and what examiners look for. I really enjoy helping students build passion and confidence in science like I did throughout my academic experience.

About the lesson

My main focus is A-Level/IB Chemistry, but I also teach:

- GCSE/A-Level and IB Chemistry, Physics, and Maths

What you’ll get from my lessons:

- Clear explanations tailored to your level

- Past paper questions + mark-scheme-based feedback

- Coursework structure, ideas, and understanding the rubric

I also help students get accepted to and prepare for university!

- University interview preparation:
Mock interviews, thinking out loud to solve maths/chemistry problems you may encounter in Russell Group interviews.

- A head start to first year content:
Organic mechanisms, thermodynamics and maths for chemists.

- Personal statement feedback:
Guidance on structure, clarity, and how to present scientific interest effectively.

Free first lesson: In our first session, we’ll go through your syllabus, identify your strengths and weaknesses, and build a plan to help you reach your exam goals.

Oscar helped me achieve a 7 in IB HL Chemistry, I attended the same school as he did so we did tutoring in person in the lead up my exams. Would 100% recommend.
