About Bethan
I am an A level student studying Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics and looking to study medicine in university next year. I have previously worked for Explore Learning where I tutored maths and English to children aged 4-16. I achieved a full UMS score in my AS level maths examination and at GCSE attained an A* in both numeracy and mathematics as well as a distinction in further mathematics.

I base my lessons around what the students need and want. I am willing to be flexible in the topics I teach and the methods I use depending on an individuals needs and interests. During the first lesson I will ensure that both the student and I have clear set goals on what we want to achieve. I want my lessons to be a comforting experience, I believe it’s imperative that students feel confident and comfortable to achieve their potential, I am hoping that being a student myself will allow for a more relaxed and unpressurised style of teaching. When tutoring previously I particularly enjoyed going through examples with children and then together coming up with a step by step guide on how to approach each question. When tutoring science I like to make it as visual as possible as sometimes it can be difficult to Imagine what is actually happening but of course each individual is different, I believe a good tutor is one who adapts to the students needs instead of sticking to what they think is best!
