About Rivas

I have been teaching ESL for 12 years now; 10 of those professionally. I was also a classroom teacher specializing in core general education.
I am continuously learning from my students and always seek out the opportunity to absorb knowledge from wherever I may be able to get it.

About the lesson

I offer a collection of different ESL learning options, ranging from 12-week courses that fully immerse you in the language to more targeted individual (one-time) classes. I base our curriculum around current events worldwide. This unique approach is not only fun, but it allows you to learn faster and retain knowledge more efficiently. No matter what method you prefer to use to learn, I am ready, willing, and able to help.

I cannot recommend Laurahighly enough! From the initial consultation, she was attentive to my child's unique needs and learning style, especially considering their ADHD. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, she developed a completely customized lesson plan that kept my child engaged and motivated. Her patience, creativity, and genuine passion for teaching truly set her apart. My child's confidence and academic performance have skyrocketed thanks to her individualized approach. If you're searching for a tutor who goes above and beyond, look no further!

Laura helps me with my college courses. I am enrolled in Miami-Dade College. She is very patient and takes the time to make sure I know something before we move on to the next subject. Her class is fun.
