About Robert
I am an Engineering student at St. Mary's University with an expected graduation of May 2021. I am currently taking differential equations (math class above Calculus II) which makes me familiar with all math subjects at or below Calc II level. Most of my tutoring experience has been informal (Mainly helping fellow students in their math & science classes) although I have seen those very students succeed and enjoy their time in the class.

I prefer to challenge the student. That means that I start by understanding what gaps the student has in their knowledge. This would be noticed by giving the student varying questions with differing difficulty. Once the issues have been noted, we will work on those problems one-by-one. I spend much of my time having the student lead the problem-solving while providing guidance along the way. As math is more of a hands-on topic, I feel it is more important for the student to actually work on the question as opposed to watching a lecture. (Lectures will be given but not emphasized)
