About Keith

I have 25 years of experience tutoring and teaching mathematics. I have taught junior high and high school math as well as science. For those of you looking for high power, I am a recently retired professor from university teaching in the math department.
Some of my interests include learning foreign languages, running, and karate.
I live with my wife of many years and 4 Siberian Huskies as well as several horses.

About the lesson

I am here to help you through the ups and downs of learning that will prepare you for the future. The key is one's attitude in learning math. I once hated math and now I love it. I found it boring and having no relevancy to the world around me.
I seek parental involvement and always keep the parents updated with the progress of my students. Regular homework is assigned to not only assess but also build depth in one's understanding so that mastery is achieved.

Mr. Offen tutored my 6th and 8th grade children and was always professional, knowledgeable, and dedicated to his work. He went above and beyond by purchasing the same textbooks my kids used at school—at his own expense—just to better align his tutoring with their curriculum.

He consistently communicated with us as parents, keeping us updated on what he taught and how the kids were doing. He is very sweet and clearly passionate about teaching.

That said, his teaching style may be better suited for older students, such as high school seniors or college-level learners, as some of his methods were a bit advanced for middle schoolers. Still, we really appreciate the effort and care he put into working with our children.
