About Kira
Working through 4 years of focused tutoring has shown me that you often grasp the core concepts of carboxylic acids and elimination reactions but struggle during timed testing. My own path to the MD at UC San Francisco School of Medicine required scoring 520+ on the MCAT, an exam that demands high mental agility.
I prioritize helping biochemistry students, MCAT candidates, and exam candidates move past simple memorization to true application. You will find that I utilize my deep familiarity with radical reactions and alcohols and ethers to simplify complex pathways. I emphasize curved-arrow notation and functional groups to ensure you gain technical fluency. It is rewarding to watch students finally navigate SN1 and SN2 reactions with confidence.
Teaching amines and NMR spectroscopy remains a highlight of my week. I enjoy breaking down these difficult chemical concepts until they feel intuitive for you. My aim is to help you maintain composure when the clock is ticking.
