About Ivan
I am currently a PhD student specializing in theoretical aspects of machine learning. I like to help students understand mathematics and theoretical subjects so that they can also appreciate why I find those subjects fascinating. When I am not doing research or tutoring, I am probably bouldering indoors at Boulder Planet.

I have been a TA and private tutor for mathematics and proof/theory-oriented computer science courses since 2017. I mostly teach university level students (typically Year 3/4 or graduate level), though I occasionally take motivated high school students too (for advanced classes and sometimes Olympiad prep). In addition to helping my students to learn the formal proof, I would also try my best to provide intuition and concrete examples, so that they can "grasp" what is really going on.
