About Réka
Hi! I’m Réka, a Hungarian from Slovakia and currently studying Commerce International at UCD.
Besides Hungarian and English, I speak Slovak and German and am currently studying Chinese. Growing up with different languages and now studying abroad has made me really enjoy meeting and working with people from different backgrounds.
Outside university, a big part of my life has always been music. I did Hungarian folk dancing for 13 years, I’ve been singing since I was little and I also play the piano. I love writing stories and spend a lot of my free time hiking and climbing.
I’m very open and easy to talk to, and I like creating an environment where people feel comfortable asking questions or saying when they don’t understand something. I’m patient, curious and genuinely enjoy helping people figure things out.
I’d love to hear what you’re working on and help make math feel a little less complicated.

I’ve been tutoring for around 4 years and currently study Commerce International at UCD, where I achieved an A+ in my university math module. I’ve also taken part in math competitions, including the Pythagoras competition.
Before each lesson, you can send me the topic or questions you’d like to work on so I can prepare specifically for what you need. I believe everyone learns differently, so I try to understand where exactly a student is getting stuck and explain the problem in a way that makes sense to them. We can work through topics step by step, practice questions together and focus more on the areas you find difficult.
I mainly teach beginner to intermediate-level math, including arithmetic, algebra, trigonometry and basic statistics.
Lessons are 60 minutes and are open to both adults and younger students. The first 30-minute lesson is free, so we can talk about what you need help with and where you’d like to improve.

Me and Réka have both studied Mandarin Chinese for over a year now, a notoriously difficult language. Through it all she's been very dedicated, attentive and hard-working. She has taught me a bit of Hungarian, and through it she's been very willing to answer even the most obscure questions, and has laid everything out in a clear, easy to understand manner, meaning I could grasp rather complicated concepts with ease. Would highly recommend to anyone as a teacher.
Réka has been helping me with Hungarian and Maths for a while now and I’ve really enjoyed our lessons. She explains things clearly and always makes sure I understand before moving on.
