About Laura

I’m an academic writing tutor with a master’s degree in Art History from Paris-Sorbonne University and over ten years of experience supporting students with essays and dissertations.

Having completed my own dissertation, I understand the challenge of turning extensive research into a clear, convincing argument. My background spans the humanities and international business, and I also teach English, bringing close attention to language, structure and style.

I offer patient, thoughtful support, whether you’re struggling to get started or refining a nearly finished draft. My aim is to help you express your ideas clearly and develop confidence in your own academic writing.

About the lesson

Have plenty of ideas but struggle to organise them? Unsure whether your argument comes across clearly, or how to respond to your supervisor’s feedback?

I provide tailored essay and dissertation support, from planning an outline to refining a final draft. Sessions can focus on developing your argument, structuring chapters and paragraphs, engaging critically with sources, or improving the clarity and flow of your writing.

Through one-to-one lessons and detailed feedback on drafts, I explain where your writing is effective, where a reader may lose the thread, and how you can strengthen it. You’ll receive practical suggestions while retaining your own voice and ownership of your work.

Whether you bring an outline, a single section or a complete draft, the support is shaped around your stage of writing and priorities.

I offer a free 30-minute consultation to discuss your project, your goals and how I can support you.

Laura possesses the qualities one associates with teaching or mentoring. As a young professional building her career, other team members sought her out to help them understand their assigned tasks, for help with projects, as well as advice on everyday situations. This remained true when she supervised other employees in the work environment, as she was a team leader responsible for carrying out detailed projects that required the cooperation and consensus of her team members. While in New York, she volunteered with blind adults who looked to her for help in managing their daily affairs. They saw her as someone who genuinely cared about them, from the consternation they expressed when she was about to leave New York.

Laura, who holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business from the University of Mississippi, moved to France in 2015 after a successful professional career in the United States. At that time, she courageously chose to follow her passion for artistic creation by reorienting herself towards art and archaeology studies at Sorbonne University.
I can also testify to the qualities of this teacher, who is a hard-working, active, dynamic and brilliant student. In my seminars and in our more personal relationships around her research, Laura has been proactive and extremely open. Last but not least, her career as a whole demonstrates her ability to adapt to different socio-professional, linguistic and intellectual contexts.
