About Anushree
Mathematics has been a big part of my life, and I'm fortunate to be pursuing a PhD in the subject at Penn State after completing my Master's from IIT Indore. Teaching is something I genuinely enjoy because I love helping students understand ideas that once seemed difficult. I believe every student can do well with the right guidance, patience, and practice. My aim is to make each lesson clear, encouraging, and interactive so that students leave feeling more confident than when they started.

I believe the best way to learn mathematics is by doing it, not just reading or memorizing formulas. My goal is to help students understand why something works before focusing on how to solve problems. I use lots of examples and encourage students to think through ideas instead of simply following steps.
My teaching style follows the "I do – We do – You do" approach. First, I explain and solve a problem while discussing the thought process. Then we work through similar questions together, and finally, I let students solve problems on their own while I guide them whenever they get stuck.
A typical lesson starts with an introduction to the topic and why it matters. I like to discuss the intuition or motivation behind a theorem or key concept before diving into the mathematics. Depending on the student's level, we'll go through examples, proofs (if needed), and finish with practice problems to make sure the ideas are clear and can be applied confidently.
I have experience teaching students at different levels, including working closely with freshman students during my PhD at Penn State. Over time, I've learned that many students don't struggle because they're "bad at math"—they just haven't had someone explain it in a way that makes sense to them. I enjoy breaking down difficult ideas into simple, manageable pieces and creating a comfortable space where students feel free to ask questions.
I teach students from middle school and high school to undergraduate and early graduate levels. Whether you're preparing for exams, trying to improve your grades, or simply want to build a stronger understanding of mathematics, I'll adapt my lessons to your goals and learning style. More than anything, I hope my students leave each lesson feeling more confident and maybe even discovering that mathematics is more interesting and beautiful than they thought.
