About Jaren
Hi! I'm a 22-year-old undergraduate student. I’m a friendly, patient tutor teaching Chinese (for all) and Maths for children aged 4–14. I’m here to make learning feel less like “ugh, homework” and more like “wait… I can do this.” In Chinese lessons, we build confidence in speaking, listening, pinyin and characters with clear routines and fun practice. In Maths, I teach step-by-step methods so students understand the “why,” not just the answer. I keep lessons structured, supportive, and tailored to each child’s level, with steady progress and plenty of encouragement along the way.

I teach Chinese (Mandarin) for all levels, from complete beginners to more advanced learners, and I also teach Maths for children aged 4–14. My lessons are calm, structured, and tailored to each student’s level. For Chinese, we build confidence in speaking, listening, pinyin, characters, reading and writing using clear explanations, games, and repetition that helps students remember. I can also support Chinese literature, including poems and short texts, to improve comprehension, vocabulary, and writing style in a fun and approachable way. For Maths, I focus on step-by-step methods, strong foundations, and problem-solving skills so students understand the “why,” not just the answer. I also have experience supporting children with autism, so I’m patient and flexible, and I can use predictable routines, visual support, and short breaks when needed. Lessons are usually 45–60 minutes, with shorter sessions available, and fees can be discussed depending on lesson length and learning goals.
