About Daisy

My lessons focus on unlocking the power of data and showing how numbers can tell meaningful stories. I guide students in interpreting data clearly, turning complex information into insights they can trust. Together, we master graphing techniques, from simple charts to more advanced visualizations that reveal patterns and trends. Statistical analysis is another core part of our work, helping learners measure, compare, and understand relationships within data. We explore real-world datasets and studies, connecting theory to practice and making learning engaging and relevant. Through step-by-step guidance, even those who feel uneasy about math can gain confidence in handling numbers. I help students develop strong quantitative reasoning skills, equipping them to analyze research, make decisions, and present findings effectively. Lessons are structured to encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving, while ensuring every concept is clear and practical.

About the lesson

I’m a Maths tutor with over 7 years of experience and a MSc in Computational Mathematics, dedicated to making advanced concepts understandable and meaningful for everyone. My approach is holistic, focusing on understanding the big ideas behind mathematics rather than just performing calculations. I aim to show students that math is not a set of rules to memorize but a way of thinking and seeing the world.

I often use everyday analogies—a city’s layout, a music rhythm, or even the patterns in nature—to bring abstract ideas to life. Historical context also plays a role in my lessons, helping learners see how mathematical theories developed from human curiosity and practical needs. This approach makes even complex topics feel approachable and relevant.

I’ve worked extensively with liberal arts students, humanities scholars, and anyone looking to overcome a previous fear of math. I understand how intimidating numbers and formulas can feel, and I guide students gently toward clarity and confidence. Each lesson is designed to spark curiosity, encourage questions, and highlight connections between math and everyday life.
