About Maya

I have been a tutor for three years now. I love sharing my passion for literature while helping my students feel less worried about analyzing & decoding complex poems & other pieces of writing. For me, literature is the backbone of society. Any social unease that the public may feel about the world is openly expressed through the writing of the period & helps give a better understanding of our history.

About the lesson

I like to see the assignment at hand first & then work through what the student has to improve both their writing & analysis skills. My aim is to introduce new writing skills that the student can implement in different assignments and classes.

Maya was my tutor for around 6 months. In that time she really took the time to understand what my struggles were & formed feedback to strengthen my analysis skills. I knew that no matter what my assignment was, Maya would be able to help me navigate any questions or concerns I had about the poem/novel I was writing about. I strongly recommend Maya as a tutor.

I have had her as a tutor in the past & she greatly improved my writing style. I came to her with a rough draft & she helped me shape my essay all while keeping true to my thesis. The advice she gave me helped create a clear voice within my writing.
