About Madeleine
I am currently working as a tutor, hosting private sessions, and working in a high school classroom. I currently tutor math, French, and science courses.
I graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Mathematics in Math/ Financial Analysis and Risk Management. Through the co-op program, I gained two years of valuable professional experience working in the big banks. After graduating I also worked full-time as a consultant in a Big 4 firm, where I got to interact more closely with the clients.
I am very passionate about travel and left consulting to pursue this passion. This year I spent 4.5 months traveling across Europe (including Scandinavia) and the Middle East and working as a tour guide in Munich. My experiences traveling inspired me to focus my talents on a career where I could help people and share my love for learning. I look forward to doing this as a tutor.

- I have a diverse range of experience as a tutor. I have tutored from grades 3-12, in both private sessions and classroom settings.
-I tutor all math levels up to grade 12, including Functions, Advanced, Functions, Calculus and Vectors, and Data Management.
- I go through examples and practice problems with the students. Asking them questions and/or having them attempt a problem when they are ready to keep them engaged.
- I try to create a positive and encouraging environment. My goal is to not only help my students to succeed in their courses but to also feel confident in themselves and their abilities.
- I try to make learning as fun as possible. I find ways to implement games or interesting examples that will drive learning in the subject.
- I care about my students and want to build rapport with them to creat a safe environment. I ask them how their day was and make an effort to get to know them beyond math (as much as they feel comfortable).
