• When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

  My passion for mathematics and physics has deep roots that trace back to my formative years. From a young age, I found immense joy in unraveling the mysteries of the world, and my fascination lay in the realm of mathematics as a language of nature. This innate curiosity soon led me to explore its application in physics, as I yearned to comprehend the fundamental workings of the universe itself. However, my journey into private tutoring took shape during the pursuit of my PhD from the prestigious Cambridge University. It was during this period that I had the privilege of tutoring undergraduate students. The act of fostering a deeper understanding in core subjects became an intrinsic part of my academic and personal identity. Witnessing the moment when a complex concept suddenly clicks in a student's mind, or observing the spark of inspiration ignite within them, became a source of joy and fulfillment.

• Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

  Math is a truly fascinating subject that spans from the elegant world of pure mathematics, where logic and proofs reign supreme, to the practical and dynamic realm of calculus with its wide-ranging applications.

• Did you have any role models; a teacher who inspired you?

  I was fortunate to have a role model in my high school physics teacher who played a pivotal role in shaping my educational journey. Their dedication and passion for the subject went beyond the standard curriculum, inspiring me to explore topics outside of the classroom that piqued my interest.

• What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

  To be a good tutor, several essential qualities are necessary. These qualities not only facilitate effective learning but also create a positive and supportive educational environment. Here are some key qualities that make me an effective tutor:

  My favorite function is f(x) = |x| which means avoid negativity 😊

• What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?

  A common challenge in the pursuit of knowledge, particularly in a subject like mathematics, is skipping over ancillary questions which can leave gaps in knowledge. Some learners encounter challenges balancing depth and breadth of knowledge, time management, and patience. Addressing the ancillary, yet foundational, questions can be very beneficial in the long term but requires discipline beyond "passing the subject."

• Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

  The ability to appreciate the intricate web of relationships and connections that mathematics unveils in the natural world is a profound and inspiring perspective. It's this kind of passion and curiosity that drives scientific progress and pushes the boundaries of human understanding. Whether its teaching, conducting research, or simply immersing myself in the wonders of mathematics and its applications in understanding the universe, my passion is an asset that not only enriches my life but also has the potential to inspire others to explore the beauty of science and mathematics.
